Here's some weekly pics to show how my belly and baby grew during my first "green" and vegan pregnancy...

The Business of Being Born. If you are pregnant or are thinking about getting pregnant, this is a must see documentary that will really get you thinking about all the birth options that are out there, instead of just following the traditional, planned C-section hospital route (unless you have a medical condition that requires this). It's funny because when I was a kid, I remember asking my mom if they could just "put me to sleep" when I was in labor because I didn't want to feel a thing. Obviously I grew up, and I woke up to the fact that giving birth is something I want to be awake for because my baby is coming into the world and I want to soak it all in! This documentary showed me that giving birth comes naturally to women...it's not an illness or a thing to be fixed/numbed/or treated like a traditional surgery. .
Here's another one of my favorite birth documentaries called, Orgasmic Birth. Don't let the title freak you out, this enlightening documentary follows seven couples as they welcome their babies into the world through natural births, most of which are at home (love this!). What I liked most about this documentary was just the ability to watch a number of natural births and see that women's bodies are stronger, smarter, and more capable then most people think, especially when it comes to giving birth. Often times I feel like all I see are the baby shows on TLC or Discovery Health that make birth seem scary, dangerous, and traumatic. I can understand that birth may be that way for some women, but it wasn't for me, and it doesn't have to be like that for you either. Ladies you may want to watch this one without your hubbies...mine was a little freaked out by this at first, so I watched it first and then showed him the "highlights".
